As I wrote down some of the wrestler's signature moves on the records page I began to think about the nature of the moves.  I had specifically refrained from calling them finishers.  Why?  Well... I haven't really got a clue if they're worthy of being called a finisher.  Were any of the moves truely good enough to unquestioningly bring about victory?
At least to my mind, to be considered a finisher the move would have to successfully end the match more than half the times it's exicuted.  In all honesty to be truely considered a match ending finisher it would have to be successful more than 75% of the times it's exicuted.
I have taken it upon myself to tally the success rate of certain 2XW finishers.  Among those being tallied at the moment are the Ultimate Slam, the Director's Cut, the Savage Cutter, the Kay Bomb, the Cross Over, Big Kay's Side Effect, and X's CrossFace.  The results will be based on the use of the move in a match where pin and submission are the primary method of obtaining victory.  Use of the move will only count if it was used to end the match.
An example; if Jerry Adonis used the Director's Cut in a ladder match, it would not count toward the moves success rate.  If X put someone in the CrossFace durring a backstage encounter, it would not count towards the success rate.  If Big Kay used the Kay Bomb in a match but didn't attempt to win right after, it would not count toward the success rate.  Anytime a move is reversed during a pin or submission match it will be tallied.
Thusly we should be rewarded with the success rate of the moves as well as an estimate on how easily countered they are.
So... may the best move win!

So as of XM1 our major finishing moves are the Kay Bomb and the Ultimate Slam.  The Kay Bomb has only been used once to finish a match and successfully.  At this point it's too early to tell how much a finisher it will be.  The Ultimate Slam has only been slightly successful.  At 38% success the Ultimate Slam isn't so much a "finisher."

By XM2 we've seen the Ultimate Slam, Kay Bomb, and Savage cutter devistating opponents as well as X's Crossface making people submit.  But have these moves been finishing matches.
Let's start with the Kay Bomb.  Well, at 82% success and having never been kicked out of in a matching ending situation I'd say we can safly call the Kay Bomb a Finisher.
The Ultimate Slam on the other hand has dropped from 38% to 25% success.  Their is even a 5% margin now where the Hero had to cheat to aid the Ultimate Slam.  Also reversals of the Ultimate Slam are up to 40% at this point.  So either it stands true that moves become easier to counter and combat with time or the Ultimate Slam is simply easy to counter.
The Savage Cutter is either hit or miss at this point.  It's too early to yet tell but at 33% success and 66% kicked out of or reversed, it's not looking good.
X quickly established himself as one of the most deadly competitors in 2XW.  But does his Crossface diserve the same respect?  As of XM2... no.  It would seem X just can't hold on to an opponent long enough for the move to be that final.  As of XM2 X's Crossface was escaped from 67% of the time.  With only 25% success in 20 match ending situations it's looking like X's "finishing" move was more fear than anything else.

As of Extreme Rumble 2004

Ultimate Slam- 51 exicutions/27 with intent to finish match-19% Success/Kicked Out of 26%/Reversed 48%/Cheated afterward 4%/Finish Interfered with 4%

Savage Cutter- 25 exicutions/11 with intent to finish match-36% Success/Kicked Out of 36%/Reversed 27%

Okay here's the run down for the top finishers in 2XW as of Extreme Rumble 2004.
The Ultimate Slam continues to drop down the ladder.  At XM2 it was at 25% success but is now down to 19% success.  Also it's being reversed 48% of the time.  Apparently David Owens fighting style is aging like cheese rather than wine.
The Kay Bomb has dropped as well from 82% success to 73% success.  Even so it's the only move still worth being called a Finisher.  Kay was also trying out a new finisher at this time, the Side Effect.  Right now it's at 50% successful.
The Savage Cutter's success went up a little.  Also the percent it got kicked out of went up a little.  But on the up side it's been reversed less.
The Director's Cut has 0% success.  Although that may be because no one is letting him finish a match with it.
Now we come to X's Crossface.  At XM2 X was weilding the move like an amatur and it was being escaped 67% of the time.  The success rate has gone down and so has the precent of times it's escaped from.  But that would be because it's now being reversed.  The reversal rate went from 0% to 30%.  Sorry X... you couldn't really lock it in and then everyone learned to reverse it.

As of Extreme Rumble 2005

Ultimate Slam- 52 exicutions/27 with intent to finish match-19% Success/Kicked Out of 26%/Reversed 48%/Cheated afterward 4%/Finish Interfered with 4%

Cross Over- 13 exicutions/11 with intent to finish match-36% Success/Escaped 36%/Reversed 27%

Director's Cut- 7 exicutions/4 with intent to finish match- 50% Success/Finish Interfered with 50%

Kay Bomb- 29 exicutions/15 with intent to finish match-73% Success/Reversed 20%/Finish Interfered with 7%

Cross Face- 39 exicutions/29 with intent to finish match-31% Success/Opponent Escaped 38%/ Reversed 28%/Finish Interfered with 3%

Side Effect- 14 exicutions/10 with intent to finish match- 60% Success/Kicked Out of 30%/Reversed 10%

Savage Cutter- 36 exicutions/16 with intent to finish match-44% Success/Kicked Out of 31%/Reversed 25%

Okay here's the run down for the top finishers in 2XW as of Extreme Rumble 2005.
The Ultimate Slam at XM2 was at 25% success and at Extreme Rumble 2004 was at 19% success.  With only one extra non match ending exicution it is holding at 19%.
The Kay Bomb has been used more but not in a match ending situation.  So it's success rate holds steady.  Big Kay has since been ending matches with the Side Effect at 60% success.  As of Extreme Rumble 2004 it was at 50%.  So in typical Big Kay fasion he has infact found a move he can end a match with.  The Kay Bomb has a 73% success rate and his new finisher is working at 60%.  That's a start.
The Savage Cutter's success went up a little again.  But again the reversal rate and kick out rate went up again.  The Savage Cutter works but using it does seem to be a gamble.  Oh well, you gotta go out on a limb.  That's where the fruit is.
The Director's Cut was at 0% success as no one was leting Jerry finish.  Well the Director's Cut jumped to 50% success but that's still out of only 4 match ending situations.  We'll see...
Next we come to X's Crossface.  It was unsuccessful 77% of the time last we checked.  The unsuccess of X's Crossface is now down to 69%.  Escapes are down to 38% from 43% and reversals are down to 28% from 30%.  I guess people finally got so comfortable in fighting X that they got sloppy and he finally got a few finishes with that move.  We'll see if he can keep it up.
Finally we see the new move being used by Genocide.  The Cross Over submission is at 36% success.  In 11 match ending situations that's not too bad.  It's been escaped from 36% of the time and reversed (mostly by Big Kay) 27% of the time.  We all know Genocide had a tendancy to become over zealous.  Does the Cross Over's current success come from over zealousness or is Genocided carless like X.  Only time will tell.
